It was a lucky envelope.
It's a Chinese New Year tradition for families (specifically, married couples) to give these lucky red envelopes filled with money to their children. I'm not a kid any more, but I still get them! Lucky me, right? When and if I ever do get married, I will get to give these out!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Happy New Year to those of you who follow the Lunar calendar. I wish you peace, love and happiness! This is the year of the dragon, which is supposed to be a year for good fortune! Maybe this year I will become rich and famous! LOL! For those born on 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000 and of course 2012, you are a dragon. You are considered loyal, eccentric, noble and arrogant.
