Hint: think Halloween
Hey there!  Hope you are having a good weekend so far! Today's thingamajig is another Halloween themed one. They can be any shape, size or colour. You can keep this indoors or outdoors. But make sure you keep an eye on it, especially if you have small kids around. What is it?

Photo #269 Revealed

It was a skeleton.
Silly joke time!

Q: What do skeletons like to order at Chinese restaurants?
A: Spare Ribs

Hint: think creepy thoughts
Hello, my lovelies! Hope you are having a good weekend so far. Today's thingamajig is an easy one. You don't need anymore hints. It's a Halloween themed one. I'm going to keep this short. I'm going to work on my Halloween costume. I never learn. I'm always doing things last minute...

Enjoy the rest of your day. And don't do anything I wouldn't do... ;)

P.s I just lost a follower... that makes me sad :(

Photo #268 Revealed

It was papaya/paw paw fruit.
Oh, how I wish I could live on a tropical island and have all the fresh fruit my heart desires!

Tifa, can I come visit you? ;)

Hint: you can find this in a supermarket
Happy Friday! It's the weekend. So I'm going to keep this short and simple. Today's thingamajig can be cooked or eaten raw. As you can probably tell, the black parts are kinda slimy. They flourish in tropical environments. What is it?

Will you be dressing up for Halloween?

Hope you have a spooky weekend!

Photo of the day, #267

Hint: it's heavy for its size
I had quite the scare last night. My oven caught on fire! I was baking pie when all of a sudden, a fire started. This has never happen to me before. I tried a new pie recipe and I guess it had too much grease in it.  I was thisclose to calling the firemen, when the fire put itself out. I was a bit traumatized and I think I will take a break from baking. And in case this ever happens to you, NEVER EVER pour water over a grease fire. It will make things worse. You are supposed to pour baking soda on it or put it lid on it.

Anyways back to today's thingamajig. It's not a household item. This isn't even something I own. These are found outside and are made to last. Some of them are even thousands of years old. And they are usually custom made. They vary in size, shape and colour. What is it?

Photo #266 Revealed

It was a feather.

Photo of the day, #266

Hint: it can be any colour
Well hello again! So nice of you to visit! Today's thingamajig is an easy one, if I do say so myself. You shouldn't need any more clues. But if you do, continue reading. You can buy them in stores, but why would you? You can get them for free if you look for them outside. In some cultures, this thingamajig has significant value. But for most of us, it's just another object that we don't think twice about. What is it?

Photo #265 Revealed

They were ice cream cones.
I love ice cream so much that I have my very own ice cream machine! The other day I made a banana-mango-coconut ice cream. It was paradise!

Photo #264 Revealed

It was a pair of tongs.
Tongs: They're like chopsticks for non-Asians!

Photo of the day, #265

Hint: they are not wafers
The second thingamajig is not a type of wafer cookie. I already did that one not too long ago. It's something that kids and adults both enjoy. If you choose to buy them at the supermarket, they are usually sold in multiples of 12. They have a long shelf life. They are fragile and would break easily if dropped. What's your best guess?

Hope you will have twice as much fun today than you did yesterday! :)

Photo of the day, #264

Hint: you might keep this in a drawer
Happy Two-sday! And like last Tuesday, I will have 2 photos for you to guess. The first thingamajig is a type of tool that is made of stainless steel. You can buy them at a hardware and department stores. It can be used indoors or outdoors. People tend to use this more often in the summer months. What is it?

Photo #263 Revealed

It was a mug.
It's my hot chocolate-tea-hot water drinking mug.

Yep. I'm weird. I like drinking hot water. Even in the summer.

Hint: you might have one in front of you
Well hello there, my lovely followers. Hope your week is off to a great start. Today's thingamajig is a very common household item. They are inexpensive to buy and you can buy them pretty much everywhere. You can get them in any colour, shape and size. What is it?

Photo #262 Revealed

It was a silicone brush.
It's a lot easier to clean than the hairy looking ones.

Sunday, October 23, 2011

Photo of the day, #262

Hint: it's not a toothbrush
Hi there! Nice of you to drop by. You are so sweet. Today's thingamajig looks like a toothbrush, but it's not. Been there. Done that. And it isn't something you would keep in your bathroom. This one is made of a special material that makes it easier to clean than some of the more traditional ones. You can find this at a supermarket. What is it?

Photo #261 Revealed

It was a cookie cutter.
I feel patriotic today! I love you, Canada!

Bonus points if you guessed a maple leaf cookie cutter!

Hint: It could also be made of plastic
Hey there! Hope you are having a fun so far! Today's thingamajig is usually kept in the kitchen. I own quite a few of these. It's something I have started collecting. They come in numerous shapes and they vary in size. You can buy them individually or in a set. What is it?

Photo #260 Revealed

It was a persimmon.
This is a sweet, fleshy fruit. It's in season now until about December. If you can find them at your local supermarket/farmer's market, try some today! They are good for you!

Hint: it grows on trees
Happy Friday! The weekend forecast here is looking great. It's supposed to be nice and sunny!

Today's thingamajig might be a difficult one, especially if you aren't Asian. But even if you aren't Asian, you might have seen them in the stores.  If you can find them , they can be sold fresh or dried. I prefer fresh, but the dried version is still pretty good. China is a major producer of this thingamajig. And maybe for this reason alone, I should move to China. I love these thingamajigs! They are also grown in Korea, Japan, and Brazil. What is it?

Vegetables are yummy!

Ink Pen comic
As much as I enjoy my bacon, I also like to eat vegetables (and not just in cake). My favourites include: snap peas, sweet bell peppers, squash, zucchini, sweet potato and string beans.

Photo #259 Revealed

It was a watch.
That's not my watch. I don't think I have ever worn a watch. If I do have a watch on me, it's in my pocket. My wrists are way too small...

Photo of the day, #259

Hint: It ranges in price
Hey there! Hope you are enjoying your day so far. If you aren't haven't the best of days, I suggest eating some pie. I made a pear pie last night. If you like apple pie, you would love pear pie! Pears are so sweet, juicy and all around delicious! It's one of my favourite fruits. It so good that I had some for breakfast. It has fruit, so it must be good for you, right? ;)

Anyways, today's thingamajig can be made of different materials, including plastic, silicone, metal, and even wood! They come in different styles, sizes and colours. And like most things, if it's brand name, it will cost you an arm and a leg! But if you need one in a jiffy, you can pick one up at your local dollar store. Actually, besides the old and the rich, I'm not sure if anyone even buys these anymore. What is it?

Hint: it's good with bacon
Hello there! Hope you had a good day. I didn't drop by the fire hall yesterday, but I did go to the gym. I did some cardio and then I came home and ate some homemade chocolate ice cream. It kinda defeats the whole purpose of working out, but whatever. It's not like I need to lose weight. I need to gain weight! I'm actually underweight and I can't even donate blood because I'm way too small.

Anyways, today's thingamajig is small and green. They are best fresh. They are usually sold in packages, but sometimes you can buy them in bulk. What is it?

Photo #257 Revealed

It was a hand rake.

Photo #256 Revealed

It was a sanitary pad.
Aren't you glad I didn't post a used one? ;)

Photo of the day, #257

Hint: it could be any colour
The second photo of the day is an easy one. You shouldn't need any more hints, but if you do, continue reading. This can be found outdoors, especially in the spring and summer months. As some of you know, my favourite colour is green, so of course I bought a green one. But they can be found in other colours. What is it?

And can I just say, that I'm happy that the sun is out and it hasn't started snowing yet. In fact, it's supposed to be a warm day! I plan on going for a long walk and I just might stop by my local fire hall! I have a thing for firemen... ;)

Photo of the day, #256

Hint: they are individually wrapped
Happy Two-sday! If you are new, this means that I will be featuring two photos for you to guess. Double the photos, double the fun!

The first photo is something that most females use. I have been using them for over 10 years now! Like crayons, they are usually packaged in multiples of 12. They come in different shapes and sizes. What is it?

Photo #255 Revealed

They were crayons.
And if you ever wondered how crayons are made, check out this old school Sesame Street video:

Hint: They come in many different colours
Happy Monday! Over the weekend, I got some work done around the house. I finally mowed my lawn.  Either I was extremely slow or the grass was way too long or a bit of both, but it took me close to two hours to get the job done. I also vacuumed and cleaned the house a bit. Hope you had more fun than me over the weekend. Anyways, today's thingamajig can be bought at your local dollar store. They usually come in a cardboard box in multiples of twelve. It's a very common item that I'm sure most of you have used at least once before. What is it?

Photo # 254 Revealed

It was a pine cone.
Did you know that  Coulter pine cones can weigh up anywhere from 4-10lbs and can be as long as 16 inches? I wouldn't want one to drop on me...

Hey there! Hope you are having a Sunny Sunday! I don't know about you, but it's a gorgeous fall day here. It's sunny and the sky is brilliantly blue. It's a great day to go for a walk and take some photos. Today's thingamajig can be found all over the place during this time of the year. They range in different sizes, shapes and colours. Some animals may eat it. What is it?

Eye Candy for the ladies: It's Ryan Phillippe Shirtless!

Photo #253 Revealed

It was a white glue bottle.
Anyone else remember doing that thing where you would smear some white glue on your arm and peeled it off once it was dry? Or was that just me? ;)

Hint: that's the top
It's the weekend! Yay! Hope your weekend is off to a fantastic start! I made apple-cranberry waffles for breakfast this morning! It was quite satisfying! Did you eat anything as delicious as waffles today? Today's thingamajig can be found in homes, offices, workshops and schools. It's a very common item that most of you have used before, especially if you have kids or you are a kid at heart. It is not an electrical appliance and anyone over five can use it. What is it?

For Bonus Points, guess who this is!

Hint: this is part of something you use every day
Is it Friday already?!?  I love how Holiday Mondays make the week go by faster! Today's thingamajig is a very common household item. It's may not be recognizable because it's not something you would see everyday. You would have to wait awhile for it to look like that. It is reusable and recyclable, but most people just throw it away. What is it?

Photo of the day, #251

Hint: It needs to be plugged in
Hey there! Hope you are having a good day so far! Today's thingamajig requires a bit of skill to use. It is also a good idea to read the user's manual. I use mine in the dining room, but it's not a kitchen utensil. Actually, most people wouldn't use this in the dining room. I'm a little bit weird. Most people would keep this in the bedroom or a room in the basement. What is it?

Photo #250 Revealed

It was a dish soap detergent bottle.

Hint: It's a common household item
Well hello there! Thanks for visiting. I'm glad I didn't scare you away. Today I'm feeling nice enough to give you a bit of a break with an easy photo of the day for you! This thingamajig is a very common item that I use at least twice a day. You can find this in schools, restaurants and workplaces. It can be any colour and it is usually made of plastic. What is it?

Photo #249 Revealed

It was kohlrabi.
Kohlrabi is a German turnip. "Kohl" means cabbage and "rabi" means turnip. The taste and texture is similar to a broccoli stem, but milder and sweeter.

Hint: It's not celery
The name of this comes from Germany. It is especially common in Europe and parts of Asia. It is grown above ground. If you do see them in the stores, pick the smaller ones, as they are more tender and sweeter to eat. This can be cooked or eaten raw. What is it?
