Special Post: Package Pals 2011

This is what I sent to my "Package Pals."
from top left, clockwise: stamping markers,  mini  Canada shirt, a set of Canadian coins,
a maple leaf cookie cutter, a card and a bag of the most delicious chocolates!
As some of you know, I love exchanging snail mail! So when Gentri decided to organize "Package Pals," I was all over it! It's a fun way to get to know a new blogger. This time I was paired up with Elizabeth at The Young Retiree.  She's young. She's retired! And I'm jealous! As a retiree, she has the freedom to do whatever her heart desires! Oh, the joys of being an American Navy wife!

She lives in sunny California, so I can understand why she hasn't travelled to Canada before. It's true what they say. It is cold here! I often wonder why I haven't moved away to some tropical island. That being said, I like being Canadian. Our bills are prettier than American bills. I didn't send Elizabeth any Canadian bills, but I did go through my coin collection and chose the shiniest coins for her. In addition, I sent her a mini Canadian shirt and a maple leaf cookie cutter. There is something so special about the iconic maple leaf. It's simple, classy and humble. Just like Canadians! ;) And because I like to give practical gifts,  I gave her a set of stamping markers so that she can sell more of her hand-stamped stationary at her Etsy Store. And those chocolates I sent her are almost better than bacon! ;)

In case you are wondering what I received, you can head over to Gentri's or Elizabeth's blog. I don't even know what I've received. I'm still waiting for my package to arrive...

I had fun with the Package Pals, Gentri. Thanks for organizing the swap! You were great! Do it again, another time?

  7. Sounds like such a fun project! One of the best things about Cali is the food, but hopefully she didn't try and mail you any of that, it might not look so great after going through the mail.

  8. "humble. Just like Canadians! ;)" Even though in my experience this is true, the way you phrased it really made me laugh. It's like when I'm trying to be modest or something.

  9. What a fun idea! I like my instant texts and e-mails but there's nothing like receiving a letter/card or package in the mail.
